The Teacheread curriculum integrates occupational skills into coursework for students working in childcare settings or taking courses in Early Childhood Education.  Classes address the literacy needs of students and teach workplace skills that immediately enhance their work or support their further education.

The goal of the curriculum is to give early childhood educators the opportunity to be learners as they enhance their critical and creative thinking skills through the analysis of children’s books. The lessons help facilitate discussion of the books’ main ideas and themes that can be used both as a means for teachers to better understand the story in the context of classroom instruction and the greater context of their own lives. The curriculum provides age-appropriate stories and strategies for teachers to use in infant, toddler, preschool and elementary classrooms.  The opportunity for creative expression and social networking are also benefits of this curriculum. This curriculum is available only as part of the Teacheread training.
