Keeping It Real at Work: Contextualized Instruction

With jobs being outsourced, professions disappearing, and technological demands increasing, many students are wondering what they can do to prepare themselves for employment and postsecondary education. The Keeping It Real at Work curriculum offers a contextualized approach for teaching and reinforcing work skills as well as ways to help students evaluate their strengths and transfer them to the workplace.

The eight lessons help students identify and practice facing the issues and challenges of moving into different roles and responsibilities. The curriculum focuses on topics such as change, communicating appropriately, transitions, and keeping a perspective based on individuals’ strengths. The curriculum is available only as part of the Keeping It Real at Work: Contextualized Instruction training.
